Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you're a parent considering enrollment, an organization interested in partnering, or a community member looking to support our mission, we've answered some of the most common questions about The Monarch Project below.
About The Monarch Project...
What is The Monarch Project?
The Monarch Project is a community youth development initiative serving young people ages 5–17. Through engaging programs and experiences, we help youth strengthen confidence, leadership, life skills, communication, emotional wellness, positive relationships, and purpose.
What ages does The Monarch Project serve?
Our programs are designed for youth ages 5–17. Activities and experiences are adapted to be developmentally appropriate for the ages of the youth participating.
Is The Monarch Project tutoring or therapy?
No. The Monarch Project is a youth development and enrichment program, not an academic tutoring or clinical therapy service. Our programming focuses on personal growth, leadership, confidence, life skills, emotional wellness, mentorship, enrichment, and positive community involvement.
Does my child need to be experiencing a problem to participate?
Not at all. Monarch is designed to help young people grow from where they are. Youth can participate to develop new skills, build confidence, make positive connections, explore interests, strengthen leadership abilities, or simply experience new opportunities.
Programs & Enrollment...
How long is the program?
Our Complete Monarch Experience is a six-week youth development program with engaging sessions designed to build upon one another.
How much does the program cost?
The Complete Monarch Experience is $99 per participant for six weeks, which equals $16.50 per class.
Can my child attend individual classes?
Individual class participation may be available for $16.50 per class, depending on the program and available space. While individual sessions can provide meaningful experiences, we recommend the complete six-week experience for youth to receive the greatest benefit from programming that builds from session to session.
What is included in tuition?
Tuition includes program participation, age-appropriate activities, program materials and supplies, hands-on learning experiences, opportunities for positive peer connection, and skill-building focused on areas such as confidence, communication, leadership, life skills, emotional wellness, decision-making, and personal growth.
Where are programs held?
Locations may vary depending on the program session and our community partnerships. Programs may be offered in community-based settings such as schools, libraries, faith-based organizations, community centers, and other youth-friendly spaces. Location information will be provided before participation.
How do I enroll my child?
Complete our online Youth Enrollment Form to begin. Once your information is received, The Monarch Project will review the request and provide information about available opportunities and next steps.
Does completing an enrollment form guarantee my child a spot?
No. Enrollment is based on factors such as program availability, age group, location, session capacity, and completion of required enrollment steps.
Can siblings participate?
Yes. Multiple children from the same family may participate as long as they meet the age requirements and space is available.
Financial Assistance...
What if my family cannot afford the full $99 tuition?
Cost should not be the only reason a young person misses an opportunity to participate. Families may request need-based assistance through the Monarch Community Access Program.

What types of financial assistance are available?
Depending on eligibility and available funding, families may be considered for 25%, 50%, or 75% tuition assistance or a full scholarship.

Is financial assistance guaranteed?
No. Assistance is based on demonstrated need and the availability of scholarship, sponsorship, and donated funds.

How are scholarships funded?
Scholarships and reduced-cost opportunities are supported through donations, sponsorships, fundraising, and community supporters who choose to Sponsor a Monarch.
Parents & Families...
What should my child expect during a Monarch session?
Expect participation; not lectures. Sessions may include hands-on projects, group activities, challenges, discussions, creative experiences, team-building, reflection, and opportunities to practice real-life skills.

What if my child is shy or has difficulty participating in groups?
Young people have different personalities and comfort levels. Our goal is to create an encouraging environment where youth can participate, build connections, and develop confidence at a pace that supports positive engagement.

Will parents receive information about the program?
Yes. Parents/guardians will receive relevant information about their child's program, including schedules, locations, expectations, and other information needed for participation.

What if my child needs accommodations?
Parents/guardians are encouraged to share information during enrollment about accommodations or supports that may help their young person participate successfully. We will review the information and communicate with the family regarding the program's ability to appropriately support those needs.
Partnerships...
Can The Monarch Project bring programming to our organization?
Yes. We welcome partnerships with schools, libraries, churches and faith-based organizations, community centers, youth-serving organizations, and other community partners interested in providing meaningful youth development opportunities.

How can my organization partner with The Monarch Project?
Organizations can host programs, provide space or resources, sponsor youth or events, share professional expertise, support enrichment opportunities, or collaborate with us on community initiatives.
